Mill Processing Operator
– Part Time (2) positions Tuesday – Friday 10 -1 and Tuesday – Friday 1 – 4
Start Date: on or around June 1, 2025
Location: 1327 Byerland Church Rd. Willow Street, PA 17584
The Position:
Mill Worker position is an entry-level position. This individual supports the processing flow by running equipment, scouring fiber, sorting, packaging, labeling and various odd jobs all while following safety procedures. This individual is also expected to support the larger goals of the Mill in reference to quality, safety, facility care and growth.
The Benefits:
Being part time and after 90 days probation, you will get your average day wage for holidays that fall Tuesday – Friday and accrued paid time off that can be used for vacation or sick time. We offer a discount on shop items and the use of the Mill equipment for personal processing after training period is completed.
Pay: This entry-level position has a starting hourly rate of $10.00 during training period. Once the employee shows competency in operating machinery and performing the duties a review will be made for an increase.
Hours: Either Tuesday – Friday 10-1 or Tuesday –Friday 1-4
Essential duties and responsibilities:
· Follows all established procedures and adheres to safety protocols
· Learns to operate and maintain picker, carder, and other related equipment
· Learns to scour fiber and ensures cleanliness of fiber ahead of processing
· Ensures accuracy of job labeling and tracking
· Ability to represent the Mill to visitors

Work Environment:
· Loud environment due to running machinery
· Work with raw animal fibers
· Because adequate humidity levels are critical to our process, the work environment can be hot and humid in the summertime.

· Follow safety precautions when working with machinery
Dress Code: - for safety reasons in the Mill.
· No dangling jewelry
· No loose or dangling clothing
· Long hair must be tied back

Retail Associate – Part Time Tuesday – Friday 11 am – 3 pm

The Position:
Retail Associate position is an entry-level position. This individual supports the retail flow by assisting customers, making sure the shop is in clean and appropriate condition, pulling orders, stocking inventory, organizing displays, handling sales, and potentially teaching classes. A passion for fiber arts and strong customer service skills are essential. This individual is also expected to support the larger goals of the Shop in reference to quality, safety, facility care and growth.

Customer Service:
Assisting customers with yarn selection, recommending appropriate weights and amounts, and providing guidance on fiber types and color combinations.
·Technical Assistance:
Answering questions about knitting, crocheting, and other fiber arts techniques, including pattern interpretation and troubleshooting.

Inventory Management:
Stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the shop is neat and tidy.
·Sales:
Handling sales transactions, operating the point of sale system, and making change.
Online Order Fulfillment:
Picking, packing, and preparing online orders for shipping.
· Other Tasks:
May include teaching classes, participating in special events, and assisting with other shop-related tasks.
